The price of single-family homes in the Eureka Valley/Dolores Heights neighborhood of San Francisco skyrocketed during the month of May. This was due to the limited inventory of homes for sale and intense buyer demand. Six residences traded hands last month at an average sale price of $2,194,576, compared to the average in April of $1,598,000. The properties that sold during May were on the market for an average of only 20 days before going under contract. All were conventional transactions, meaning no short sales or bank-owned foreclosures.
The most noteworthy sale during May was at 3928 20th Street, a 3BR/1BA single-family home located across the street from Dolores Park. Interest to acquire this home was off the charts. This property generated over 50 offers and sold for $551,000 over its list price in just 9 days.
